We look forward to share with you our Moldovan LEADER experience, to show our success stories projects and we count to your active participation and valuable contribution to the event. We believe that Moldovan LEADER experience could serve as an inspiration for the European LAGs and we hope that the event will provide us with a possibility to exchange views and practices, and will be a starting point for future collaboration with Moldovan LAGs.
Implementation of the LEADER approach in Moldova started in 2015/2016 with the involvement of different partners and with the support of several donors (including EU, HEKS, Polish aid, USAID, UK Aid and Estonian MFA). The first Moldovan LAGs were launched in 2017/2018. Currently, there are more than 30 LAGs in the country covering approximately 30% of the Moldovan rural areas. 11 Moldovan LAGs managed local development calls in 2018 and implemented more than 160 pilot local projects with the total budget for co-financing of approx. 330.000,00 EUR.
At the end of 2018 Moldovan LAGs along with the organisations that facilitate the process of implementation of LEADER approach in Moldova founded the National LEADER Network. This event represents also an official launching of the Moldovan LEADER Network.
