

Support for Agriculture and Rural Development in ATU Gagauzia and Taraclia (SARD)
The EU funded SARD Programme was implemented in the period 2016-2018. One of the Programme pillars was piloting the LEADER approach. The Programme contributed to the creation and institutional development of 8 LAGs from ATU Gagauzia and Taraclia district. More than 100 local projects were implemented with the financial support of the SARD Programme.



Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova is the key partner of the EU-Moldova LEADER Conference. The organisation facilitated the setting up of 9 LAGs and another additional 2 in partnership with People in Need Moldova. The Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova offered constant support in creation of the LAGs, and provided them with technical assistance and financial support to implement local development calls for proposals. In 2019 the organisation continues to finance Moldovan LAGs. The Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova was also contracted in 2016-2018 by the EU funded SARD Programme to implement the LEADER pillar.



Craion CONTACT-Cahul was involved in creation of 2 Local Action Groups (LAGs) in the South of the country. The LAG ”Colinele Tigheciului”, comprised 12 localities from Cantemir district and the LAG “Valea Halmagei” comprised 8 localities from Cahul district.
Pro Cooperare Regională – thanks to financial support of HEKS from Switzerland – supported the creation of LAGs in the north of Republic of Moldova, covering 10 districts: Soroca, Floresti, Glodeni, Falesti, Riscani, Donduseni, Drochia, Ungheni, Edinet and Singerei. The organisation facilitated the process of creation of 11 LAGs, by offering technical and financial support for their institutional development.


IDIS Viitorul, in partnership with two Estonian LAGs, implemented a project funded by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for which they provided assistance for two micro-regions in Ungheni and Stefan Voda districts to develop the LEADER approach. Through the project, IDIS Viitorul offered support during the registration process of the LAGs, local development strategies elaboration, building capacities of the LAG members, organising study visits, creating partnerships, and recently, started to facilitate access to financial resources.



People in Need Moldova (PIN), together with national partners (Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova), facilitated the creation of two LAGs in Straseni and Anenii Noi districts, thus encouraging rural development and collaboration between local public administration, private sector and civil society organisations. PIN has provided small grants for the members of both LAGs, with the financial support of British Embassy in Chisinau.
