Kristiina Tammets

Kristiina Tammets has 12 years of experience in implementing LEADER at different levels. She has been a LAG manager of the Estonian LAG Tartu County Development Association since 2007. Since 2011, she has also been involved in the activities of ELARD (European LEADER Association for Rural Development) as the representative of the Estonian LEADER Union. In 2016-2017, she held the position of ELARD President, which was great opportunity for her to learn about the aspects and challenges of LEADER/CLLD-implementation in ELARD’s 25 member countries and in the European Union generally. During the Estonian ELARD presidency, the Tartu Declaration was drafted, with key messages on LEADER/CLLD policy making for the new programming period. She was also involved as an expert by the European Economic and Social Committee to develop CLLD exploratory opinion at the end of 2017. Since 2018, she has been Vice President of ELARD. Currently, she is leading the Estonian CLLD working group and involving various partners at national level. She also collaborates in different projects involved in LEADER approach implementation in countries outside of the European Union – specifically Georgia, Moldova and China.
